Matt is an experienced industrial designer, product designer, design engineer and design educator with over 32 years in the creative, engineering and academic industries. He holds a First Class Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Product Design and has developed over 300 products.
He focuses on supporting innovators, inventors, established businesses and start-ups providing design solutions for the feasibility of new ideas, innovation ventures and new product development strategies to take ideas from blank page to launch and promotes that design ought not cost the earth, should be centred around the ‘end user’ and should be accessible to all that have feasible ideas that impact both peoples’ lives for the better and reduces material use.
For 10 years, Matt was a voluntary advisor at the Business & Intellectual Property Centre, British Library, London, advising businesses and start-ups on commercial feasibility of ideas and new product design strategies. He has advised over 2000 individuals and businesses via 1-2-1 surgeries and has participated in design thinking and designer engagement workshops with previous NGO's such as Business Links and the DTI.
Matt has tutored design to Post Grad level having been visiting lecturer at UCA and UEL. He has presented works to royalty twice, has been filmed for Discovery Channel, is named inventor on a number of patents and designed a product that helped the England Women’s Rugby Team win the 2014 World Cup!  [Silverback]
