Matt Hurley is a designer and innovation specialist with more than 25 years experience in the creative industries, the last 17 in product design, innovation, design development and prototyping of a vast range of product solutions. He founded HPDD Ltd in 2010.

He specialises in early adoption of ideas, working mostly with innovators, inventors and start-ups and as designer, his role is to help simplify the sometimes confusing and complex paths of product development ensuring that, through a managed series of activities and deliverables, the end ‘goal’ is both known AND achievable.

Matt is an adviser to businesses at the British Library Business and Intellectual Property Centre (BIPC) via the ideas21 business Innovation Surgeries on design, development and prototyping. He also participates in their ‘Ask an Expert’ on-line advice service.

Matt is a Sessional Tutor at the University of the Creative Arts in Farnham, Surrey to undergraduates on the BA (Hons) Product Design & Interaction programme and post graduates on the MA Sustainable Product Design programme in subjects 2D/3D Digital Design/CAD

Matt is also module leader for 2nd Year Product Design Undergraduates at the University of East London  tutoring students through the Product Design programme.
